Question over federalism not yet addressed: Leader Bhattarai

RUPANDEHI: Socialist Party Nepal Federal Council Chair Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that the question of federalism is yet to be solved. Talking to reporters in Bhairahawa on Friday, the former Prime Minister said the question will be addressed only after peace and prosperity in the country.
He also claimed that many questions over federalism in the country could be resolved if the party’s proposal for 10+1 States was adopted. The proposal, as he said, was based on the recommendation of then State Restructuring Commission.
Stating that it was not the right time yet to judge federalism in the country, Dr Bhattarai said, “Federalism has just born in the context of Nepal. And it is the duty of all the political parties to nurture it.”
Leader Bhattarai said the development of the country was possible on the foundation of federalism, good governance and socialism. And if the leaders work in the right way, Nepal could become a middle-income country within 15 years.
