KATHMANDU: It is an old decision of the government to start international and domestic flights from August 1. But from which countries are they allowed to come? It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
In the first phase, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has proposed to fly only to countries other than the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). Corona infections have been on the rise in India recently, but have not been brought under control in other countries.
According to ministry sources, preparations are being made to operate up to a dozen international flights daily. This will be discussed in the board of directors of Kovid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) on Sunday. “If the CCMC agrees to our proposal, it will be approved by the cabinet,” the source said.
Mandatory hotel quarantine for tourists and NRNs for 7 days
The ministry has also done its homework on the criteria to be followed in starting the flight.
According to sources, the PCR test should have been done 72 hours before the flight to Nepal and a negative report should have come. After that, in case of Nepali citizen, you have to stay in home or hotel quarantine for 14 days. And, PCR testing can be found in the community only after a negative test.
Non-resident Nepali and foreign tourists must have booked a 7-day hotel quarantine. After that, even if the PCR test is negative, you have to stay in the home quarantine for 7 days.
Such a test will be paid. An agreement has already been reached not to issue unarrival visas to those coming to Nepal. Now you have to go to the Nepali embassy in the country concerned to get a visa.
