RAJBIRAJ: The Saptari district administration office has issued a prohibitory order across the district from August 4 to 10 over COVID-19 pandemic.

The order will come into effect from 5 am tomorrow. The meeting of the district security committee on Monday took a decision in this regard as per Clause 2 of the Infectious Disease Act, 2020 and Clause 6 (3) of the Local Administration Act, 2028. So far, 531 infection cases have been detected in the district. Mobility of people, transportation and business except emergency case are banned during the prohibition, said Chief District Officer Shankar Hari Acharya.

However, pharmacy, fruits and vegetable shops, hospital, government printing press, workshop, agricultural sector, vehicles carrying construction materials, daily essentials and agricultural products and services like communication, banking, internal security work, drinking water operation and distribution, petroleum products storage and distribution, garbage collection and dumping and electricity will remain open, according to a statement issued by the local administration.
