Pro-royalist people felicitate former King; Former King requests all not to involve in politics of Prohibition

JANAKPUR: Former King Gyanendra Shah, who is on a visit to some tarai districts, has urged all political forces not to involve in the politics of prohibition.

Addressing a program organized in Janakpur to facilitate the former monarch, the former King said that the future would not be bright by cursing the past.

Stating that he has been observing the latest political development of the country he added that he will support all wise decisions of people. He also added that he is visiting districts to know the situation of people.

He also stressed the need of empowering people especially women by providing education and providing training to them for being involved in income generating activities.

The former monarch also offered prayers in different temples of Janakpur on Wednesday. The felicitation program went well despite the bandh called by one armed outfit Rajan Mukti-led Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha. The bandh was called to disrupt former king Gyanendra Shah’s visit in Janakpur and Jaleshwor.

JTMM Chairman Rajan Mukti telephoned and sent email to local journalists appealing them to boycott Shah’s programs. The underground outfit accused that the Shah dynasty showed apathy towards Madhes and Madhesi people during their rule.

He has also warned to take action against those who mark their presence at former Kings’ program.

Some critics have been terming the former King’s visit as his attempt to come back to the state power. During the visit, the former King is holding interaction with his supporters and taking stock of the situation. He held discussion with pro-royalist Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal Kamal Thapa and held discussion about current political situation of the country.
