LONDON: Following highly celebrated celebrity David Beckham, now it is the turn of the royalty to visit Nepal. Hello it is Prince Harry who will be visiting Nepal any time come spring. It is his maiden visit to a country not yet out of the woods.
There is more before that happens: Prince William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are visiting Bhutan as part of the royal tour. Of course, Twitter is already abuzz.
Prince Harry is merely following in the footsteps of his father Prince Charles and his grandparents the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh. British royalty travels on request from government. Prince Philip visited Nepal in 2000 when still constitutional monarchy.
The itinerary is not yet out but the visit has got to do with how Nepal is rebuilding following the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in April that left 9,000 dead 23,000 injured.
After Kathmandu, Prince Harry has Orlando, Florida on his itinerary. Come May 2016 he is hosting his Invictus Games event following announcement that he would be bringing the games to the US for the first time last summer, and has said he hopes America will set the bar “even higher” than London, which staged the inaugural competition in 2014.
