N24 Staff Writer, KATHMANDU:- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has made preparations to reshuffle the cabinet for which he has started consulting party insiders, sources in the Prime Minister’s Secretariat confirmed to N24. But on Friday, Prime Minister Oli announced that there would be no immediate cabinet reshuffle.
Prime Minister Oli’s remarks came as the top leadership of the Nepal Communist Party, (NCP) was preparing to reconstitute the cabinet. But by dismissing about half of the ministers in the cabinet, the Nepal Communist Party, (NCP) was preparing to bring more leader into the government.
At a cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Friday, Oli informed that the cabinet would not be changed immediately and instructed the ministers to work with confidence.
Leader Surendra Pandey or Party General Secretary Vishnu Poudel is likely to be given the responsibility of the finance ministry in the unorganized cabinet. If Bamdev Gautam is nominated by the President, he will not be given a place in the cabinet immediately. But Party Chiar Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Senior Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal want to keep Prime Minister Oli in balance by making Bamdev Gautam the Home Minister.
Even though the cabinet did not recommend taking Gautam to the National Assembly on Friday, it is doubtful whether he will be made a member of the National Assembly.
He also pointed out the possibility of a case in the Supreme Court saying that Gautam should not be nominated by the President in the National Assembly. However, it is understood that senior lawyers have been consulted regarding Leader Gautam nomination.
