The President said, “New constitution should be drafted to make people feel that they own it.”
The new constitution should address economic, social and political issues of all people, said the President, addressing the inaugural session of the 12th National Conference of lawyers organized by the Nepal Bar Association (NBA).
Power separation and power balance, fundamental rights and independent judiciary are the basic conditions of new constitution, the President said.
President Yadav also lauded the role played by NBA for the success of the People’s Movement –II and urged the NBA officials to preserve the role.
On the occasion, Minister for Law and Justice Brijesh Kumar Gupta said that conflict between judiciary and executive should be ended over the issue of jurisdiction, adding that one should understand the rights and limitations of the next.
Likewise, Attorney General Mukti Narayan Pradhan said judiciary of the 21th century should be responsible and transparent. RSS
