KATHMANDU: President Ram Baran Yadav on Thursday drew the attention of the government to effectively provide relief to the flood victims and rehabilitate them.
The Head of the State expressed his concern about making the relief efforts coordinated and effective to Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bamdev Gautam, who met the President to brief him regarding the government’s efforts to address the flood victims’ woes.
“He called for coordination among all the government agencies,” Rajendra Dahal, Press Adviser to the President, told The Himalayan Times following the meeting with Gautam, who is also the chairman of Central Natural Calamities Mitigation Committee. Yadav has also held meetings with Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang and leader of the opposition Pushpa Kamal Dahal to discuss relief for, and rehabilitation of, the flood victims.
