KATHMANDU: As the leaders of four major political parties failed to hammer out differences on the electoral legislation, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has started political consultation with dissident political parties in a bid to support the government to convince disgruntled faction to take part in the election.
President Dr. Yadav held discussion with the chairperson of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum–Nepal Upendra Yadav at the Presidential Palace in Sheetal Niwas, Maharajgunj on Monday.
After his meeting, MJF-N Chairman Yadav said that he discussed the contemporary political situation and the matters related to the Constituent Assembly election with the President.
It has been learnt that the President urged Chairman Yadav to lend support to the incumbent government in holding the CA polls.
Upendra Yadav -led Forum has been agitating against the current Khil Raj Regmi led government putting forth several demands including the resignation of Regmi as the Chief Justice. The government has failed to announce the election date amid failure at the part of political parties on key electoral legislation and opposition of different political parties including MJF Nepal and an alliance of 33-political parties led by Mohan Baidya faction of CPN-Maoist.
