KATHMANDU:- Major opposition Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the government to address the demands put forth by youth campaigners who have been in hunger strike at Basantapur in the capital.
The youths associated to ‘Enough is Enough campaign’ are on hunger strike at Basantapur for the past 15 days. President Deuba, also former Prime Minister, today reached Basantapur and expressed his party’s solidarity for the demands put forward by campaigners.
He said. ‘Government should immediately address the youths’ demands while condemning the use of force against the peaceful protesters.”
The campaigners have put their demands before the government to conduct 100 per cent PCR test and improvement of quarantines among others.
The campaigners have further complained that their demands were not yet met as the government had shown written commitment for the same on July 6.
Earlier, NC leaders Prakash Man Singh and Navindra Raj Joshi among others had met with the protesters.
