KATHMANDU:- CShe stressed the need for deep internalization of universal concept of human rights, the foundational structure of democratic system, and its effective implementation.

The provisions of fundamental rights in the constitution have made human rights broader in Nepal, the President mentioned, adding that it is the State obligation to adhere to protecting, promoting and fulfilling the human rights, as Nepal has been party to various international conventions on human rights. She also reminded that there is a constitutional body, the National Human Rights Commission, to monitor whether the human rights provisions are implemented by the State.
