President Bhandari observers Bhoto jatra


KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Sunday graced the Bhoto or jewel studded vest, displayed at Jawalakhel as part of the Rato Machhindranath procession. There is an age-old practice of the Head of the State observing the Bhotojatra to mark the end of the procession every year.

On the occasion, President Bhandari also worshipped the Kumari or living Goddess of Patan, Nihira Bajracharya. Chief of Ghuti Sansthan, Lalitpur, Shailendra Poudel displayed the bhoto from all four corners of the chariot carrying the Rato Machhindranath. 

Acting Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel, ministers, mayor of Lalitpur metropolitan city Chiribabu Maharjan, deputy mayor Gita Satyal, members of House of Representatives representing from Lalitpur and state-assembly members were present on the occasion. RSS
