President Bhandari administers oath of office to Prime Minister Oli

N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU:- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli took the oath of office and secrecy on Friday. KP Sharma Oli was sworn in at a function held at Shital Niwas.

On Thursday night, President Vidyadevi Bhandari appointed Oli as the minority prime minister in accordance with Article 76 (3) of the constitution.

Members of the old cabinet have also been sworn in at the event.

According to Article 76 (2) of the constitution, Oli, the leader of the largest parliamentary party, has been appointed prime minister after two or more parties failed to form a majority government.

Earlier, Oli had resigned after failing to get a vote of confidence in the parliament on April 10.

Oli, who has been appointed prime minister for the third time, will have to take a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives within 30 days.
