Prachanda elected UCPN-M party’s parliamentary leader

KATHMANDU: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been elected the party’s parliamentary leader.
A meeting of the party held today at its parliamentary party office, Singha Durbar, elected the party chairman to the post of parliamentary party leader. The meeting also elected Giriraj Mani Pokhrel the chief whip, party leader Top Bahadur Rayamajhi told RSS after the meeting.
Expressing its serious concerns over the government act of reviving the wartime cases, the meeting decided to launch nationwide programmes of protest against the government move, according to leader Rayamajhi.
The meeting accused the government of tabling a bill on the formation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission on Disappearances at the Legislature-Parliament with an ‘ill intention’ of derailing the peace process and warned obstruction of the parliament business until the government corrected its move, he added.
