Powerful Janajati party in the offing: Ashok Rai

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Vice Chairman Ashok Rai has said that a powerful party was being established in Nepali politics very soon.

While inaugurating the Second National Gathering and Training Programme of the Association of the Nepal Indigenous Nationalities Journalists (ANIJ) here today, he said as Nepali people had looked for a separate matured party as an alternative force, they were in final preparations to materialize it.

He said the country was in confusion because of the major party leaders’ unitary and status quoist thinking, and the federalists and progressive forces could not break the thinking, and stressed on all forces in favor of identity, equality and justice to unite in this situation.

He also called for all party consensus and next CA elections for a constitution in the changed context.

Rai also complained that the Nepali media had not been impartial and inclusive. FNJ Chairman Shiva Gaunle said the FNJ was pressing for making media inclusive and to improve the policy structure.

FNJ Advisor Ujir Magar and Central Member Khim Ghale also expressed their views. Association of Nepal Indigenous Nationalities Journalists Chairman Mohan Singh Lama said the gathering was organized to make common views on future strategy in the context that there was no inclusion of nationalities in media.
The programme is attended by journalists from indigenous nationalities from more than 40 districts. RSS
