
KATHMANDU: Chairperson of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Surya Bahadur Thapa has said that there is a need to carry out the election to the Constituent Assembly within third week of November.
He also stressed the need of holding the elections in a free and fearless environment without any further delay.
Addressing a special ceremony organized to mark RPP’s 24th anniversary on Wednesday, he said that disgruntled parties that currently appear to oppose the election should also be taken into confidence so that they participate in the CA election from where the much-awaited new constituted should be promulgated. Thapa is hinting at the four party syndicate of the major political parties.
On the occasion, Thapa also urged his party leaders and activists to start a nationwide election campaign to ensure party’s victory in the upcoming polls.
Thapa, who is also a former prime minister, said that pro-monarchist Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Rastriya Janashakti Party (RJP) agreed to merge with each other to form the new RPP for safeguarding democracy and people’s supremacy.
