KATHMANDU:- The 12th national census has started across the country from today. Forty thousand enumerators are being deployed across the country. They will visit about 7 million homes and record the population of 30 million people. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has called for assistance by recording the true details in the national census. He urged the enumerators to provide accurate details.
Releasing a video message on the occasion of the commencement of the National Census on Thursday, the Prime Minister appealed to all to assist in the task of gathering information that is indispensable for the policy making of the nation by providing accurate details. He also asked the enumerator to give correct answers to the questions asked and said that the information would remain confidential. The census work starting today will last for 15 days. A total budget of Rs. 4 billion will be spent during this campaign.
