Prime Minister’s Chief Political Aide Devendra Poudel has said that the incumbent government would be transformed into a national consensus government if parties fail to forge consensus within five days of President’s deadline.
He also urged the opposition parties to join Dr Baburam Bhattarai led government.
Speaking at a program of Reporters Club, Poudel also claimed that PM Dr Bhattarai is no obliged to meet all the conditions set by the oppositions as the opposition parties didn’t let the government to bring full fledged budget.
However, Nepali Congress central leader Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat claimed that seeking consensus in other issues except federalism and republic was like trampling people’s right.
Dr Mahat said that there would be no consensus in the next five days time given by the President as the UCPN (Maoist) was making pretensions to prolong its stay in power.
Likewise, CPN (UML) leader Raghubir Mahaseth said that UML leader KP Sharma Oli should be made the prime minister if NC’s pick Sushil Koirala was not accepted for the top executive post.
