PM directs cadres to rise above political interests during crisis


SUDURPASCHIM:- Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed the party cadres to rise above political interest during crisis. He urged them to devote to rescue works and relief distribution in view of the natural disaster.
Addressing a cadres’ meeting at Dhangadhi here Thursday, PM Deuba said he was saddened to see devastations caused by floods, and landslides triggered by the unexpected rainfall in the province. Even other parts as Province-1 were impacted badly the disaster, he said, reminding that the Cabinet had already decided to provide relief materials to the disaster survivors.
“Government has internalized the suffering the people underwent during the natural disaster. It extends assistance as much as it can,” he reiterated.
The PM also urged all to be aware of COVID-19 as the crisis is not over. He reminded that the WHO had appreciated Nepal’s efforts on its endeavour on vaccinating people against COVID-19.
The PM Deuba-led team inspected the loss and damage caused by the floods and landslides in Doti, Bajhang, Baitadi, Dadeldhura and Kanchanpur districts on Thursday.
PM Deuba has been accompanied by Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, Tourism Minister Prem Ale, former ministers Ramesh Lekhak, NP Saud and Bir Bahadur Balayar.
