
KATHMANDU:
Senior leader of the major political parties have expressed the commitment to form a government of national consensus before President Dr Ram Baran Yadav leaves for a visit to India. President Dr Yadav is leaving for India on December 24 to attend a program of the Bishwa Hindu University.
The latest deadline given by the President to the parties to form a national unity government ends on December 22.
They made the commitment during the talks held with President Dr Yadav at Rastrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas on Thursday evening.
Talking with the journalists after the meeting, UCPN (Maoist) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ expressed the confidence of giving a way out to the nation, as talks were held with seriousness.
“The country will witness formation of a national consensus government and initiation of the electoral process within the latest deadline given by the President,” Prachanda claimed.
Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala also said that he was confident for a political outlet before the President’s visit to India informing that the discussions among the parties are positive.
Likewise, Terai Madhes Democratic Party Chairperson Mahant Thakur said that the President urged the top leaders to give an outlet immediately by forging a consensus in all issues concerned.
