Paragliding test at Khalanga, Midwest Nepal successful
SALYAN: A successful paragliding test was conducted at Khalanga Luhapinga of Sharada Municipality-2 in the district. The paragliders involved in the test flight successfully landed in Shreenagar Bazaar of Sharada Municipality-2. Sunil Rawa of Rukum and BhuwanGaha of Kaski conducted the flight test. The single-man paraglide landed on Shreenagar Bazaar in six minutes.
After the successful flight, pilot Sunil Rawa suggested taking paragliding forward commercially as the area was a suitable place for sightseeing. He said that the view of flat land along the bank of Sharada River and Bazaar looked beautiful, hence the site was good for commercial paragliding.
Former chairman SudhanShrestha of Slyan Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that the test flight of paragliding was conducted for the tourism promotion in Slyan. “Paragliding is one of the adventurous sports liked by many people,” he said. Chairman of Federation of Small and Cottage Industry BirendraBhandari said that they would contribute to the promotion of tourism by operating paragliding commercially. After the successful flight, the locals welcomed the pilots Sunil Rawa and BhuwanGaha.
