PAC seeks financial reports from ANFA


KATHMANDU- The Public Accounts Committee ( PAC ) of the Legislature-Parliament has sought financial reports of the last five years from the All Nepal Football Association ( ANFA ).  

A meeting of the committee on Friday demanded the football governing body to come up with income and expenditure details (including banking transactions), terms of reference for expenditure and the remaining amount in ANFA ’s name.

PAC member Usha Gurung, Tek Bahadur Basnet, Ram Hari Khatiwada, Deepak Bohara, Ananda Prasad Dhungel and Parbati Chaudhari, among other members, demanded the government investigate the alleged irregularities in ANFA .

The parliamentary committee initiated investigation into the complaints that ANFA office bearers misappropriated millions of rupees.

On August 27, the PAC had sought additional documents from ANFA as part of the investigation on the embezzlement of funds in ANFA within three days. The PAC heard the clarification from ANFA President Ganesh Thapa on Wednesday who has been alleged for misappropriation of funds. However, the ANFA has not furnished its reply.

Likewise, today’s PAC meeting has decided to seek clarifications from the government regarding purchase of ammunition for Nepal Armed Police Force,  procurement of Kathmandu metropolitan tower, embezzlement in Nepal Tourism Board, fake vat and betel nut export.
