KATHMANDU: The days of the government, led by Prime Minister and party president KP Sharma Oli, which fell into minority in the internal power struggle of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), have begun.
The day after the start of the internal work of forming a new government in support of Bamdev Gautam, along with former Prime Minister and senior leaders of the party, Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal, has started.
The new game of power consolidation has begun with another party president Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda giving the party’s senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal to the prime minister, Jhalanath Khanal to the president and Bamdev Gautam to lead the pre-election government.
Sources claim that party general secretary Bishnu Poudel also stood in favor of Prachanda, who is preparing to become the executive president of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (NCP), which has two chairmen.
His political adviser has informed that Prime Minister and party president KP Sharma Oli, in his minority, has joined the strategy of continuing the party’s post by making the party’s senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal the Prime Minister in his support.
Although Prime Minister Oli, who is also consulting with the main opposition party Nepali Congress, (NC), is unlikely to cooperate with senior party leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, it is possible to declare a national crisis and go to the polls.
