
KATHMANDU: As the election of the Free Student Union postponed following dispute among student wings affiliated with different political parties Nepali Congress affiliated Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) has been organizing different protest programs against the postponement.
Continuing their protest programs NSU cadres staged a sit-in at the Tribhuvan University ( TU ) on Tuesday protesting the postponement of FSU election. The NSU staged sit-in alleging that the FSU election was postponed under various false pretexts.
President of NSU, Ranjit Karna, accused the TU of postponing the FSU election in a conspiratorial manner. The organization alleged that other student organizations attempted to disrupt the FSU election out of fear of being defeated in the election.
Vice-President of NSU TU Committee, Kamal Bhattarai urged other student organizations to be united for guaranteeing the FSU election soon as election is the indispensible medium of democratic process.
The dispute among student wings about admission of fake students for winning the elections at the campuses forced for the postponement of the election.
