NRNA’s Global conference and election program postponed

A meeting of the international executive secretariat of the association on Sunday postponed the world conference to hold elections within the next six months, said DB Chhetri, spokesperson of the association

By Sushma Tamang, KATHMANDU:- The pre-scheduled Global Conference and Election Program of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has been postponed. A meeting of the association on Sunday decided to postpone the election and the general convention.

The NRNA Executive body was preparing to hold elections on October 20 and the 10th World Conference from October 23 to 25. However, after receiving complaints about the selection of representatives, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs cut the letter twice and wrote a letter not to hold the election until the dispute is resolved.

A meeting of the international executive secretariat of the association on Sunday postponed the world conference to hold elections within the next six months, said DB Chhetri, spokesperson of the association. He said that a new date will be fixed in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was chaired by Kumar Pant through virtual media on Sunday.

In NRNA, Kul Acharya and Badri KC as well as Rabina Thapa have announced their candidacies for the post.
