Non-resident Nepali, Belbase, Thapa, elected councilor at Rushmoor Borough Council in UK


LONDON: Two non-resident Nepali men have been elected councilor at Rushmoor Borough Council in the United Kingdom. Social campaigner Jiba Belbase was elected from Bedlington and social worker Nem Thapa, also ex-Gurkha army, from Cherrywood.
Thapa and Belbase, who fielded their candidacy from ruling conservative party, secured 898 and 578 votes respectively. The elections were concluded in Thursday and results came out on Friday.
