BHAKTAPUR: Leader of the CPN (UML), KP Sharma Oli has said that there was no alternative to consensus among the parties. Speaking at a talk programme organised by Rafat Sanchar Club, Bhaktapur, today, he said that the nation has gone through political crisis due unilateral moves of UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai. He also alleged the Maoist leaders of violating past agreements.
He alleged that Bhattarai-led government dissolved the Constituent Assembly (CA) not for the cause of people’s fresh mandate but with the ill-intention of remaining in power.
Oli also ruled out the possibility of fresh elections until political consensus was forged.
The UML leader blamed that some persons have been challenging ethnic and communal harmony by giving the slogans of ethnic rights as they were making the foreign currency a good source of their income.
Oli also claimed that the political way out under the Maoist-led government was not possible. “Other parties should take government leadership to pave away for the current political impasse,” he added. RSS
