KATHMANDU – Newly nominated lawmaker and member of the Constituent Assembly (CA), Ganesh Thapa of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) took oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday.
At a programme organised at the CA building at New Baneshwor today, CA Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang, administered the oath to Thapa.
The government, on August 29, had nominated 17 out of 26 lawmakers at the recommendation of political parties. Of them, 16 lawmakers of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML had already taken oath of office and secrecy on Monday.
Thapa took the oath of office and secrecy today as he was unable to take oath on Monday due to some reason.
The CA has still not got its full shape as the UCPN (Maoist), Madesh-based political parties and other fringe parties did not recommend names.
