KATHMANDU: Three home-grown Nepalese scientists have produced a Nepalese brand ‘Mystique Mountain’ local perfume and attar from aromatic herbs available in the country.
The producers have christened their product as ‘Mystique Mountain’.
The perfume developed by the three scientists working at the Department of Plant Resources (DPR) under the Ministry of Forest and Environment, made their products public on Friday in the capital.
The chemical formula of the essence of the perfume and attar were handed over to the Herbs Production and Processing Company Limited (HPPCL), an undertaking of the government of Nepal by the DPR.
One simple difference between perfumes and attars is that perfumes may last for short time while the fragrance of attar will last for long duration because of the existence of glycerine in the essence.
