KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai. The swearing-in ceremony was held at President’s Office, Shital Niwas, this afternoon.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had been looking after the ministry following the passing away of then Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Rabindra Adhikari in a helicopter crash in Taplejung on February 27 early this year.
The special ceremony was attended by Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Oli, Speaker of the House of Representative Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Chairman of the National Assembly, Ganesh Timalsina, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwor Pokhrel. Also present on the occasion were Chiefs of the constitutional bodies, ministers, chiefs of security bodies and ruling party leaders.
The new minister Bhattarai was elected to the Member of the House of Representatives from Taplejung district.
