N24, KATHMANDU: Visiting US Department of State Under-Secretary for Political Affairs, Wendy R. Sherman, called on Prime Minister Dr. Babauram Bhattarai at latter’s office, Singha Durbar, today.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai urged the US State Under-Secretary for the US investment in Nepal, said Prime Minister’s advisor Ram Rijhan Yadav.
The Prime Minister informed her that Nepal’s ongoing peace and constitution-drafting processes have reached to a final stage, Yadav further said.
Yadav quoted Prime Minister as saying that the country will move towards economic development after peace and constitution and the US cooperation to that end is inevitable.
Emerging out from the meeting, State Under-Secretary Sherman commented that her meeting with Nepal’s Prime Minister was positive and also expressed confidence that the ongoing peace process and constitution-drafting will get a final shape.
Nepal’s future lies only on democracy, she said, adding that she was impressed with the ongoing peace and statute-making processes of Nepal. RSS
