NEW YORK:- Nepali women’s boxer Soni Dangol has died in New York due to corona infection. Muninder Nembang, general secretary of the Nepali Public Relations Committee USA, informed that Dangol passed away today at a hospital in Jamaica, New York.
About a year ago, Dangol was admitted to the hospital with respiratory problems. Corona infection was confirmed in all but the daughter during the test. He died today after undergoing treatment for a year.
The 45-year-old Dangol is not only the first female boxer of Nepal to participate in the international competition but also the first female boxer of the country. Dangol, who lives with her husband Vijay Dangol in Jamaica, New York, had been running her own saloon in Brooklyn, New York. They bought a house in Jamaica last year.
Entrepreneur Pradip Shrestha informed that the funeral will be held at the Coppola Miorene Funeral Chapel in Queens Corona, New York on Monday, February 8 and the tribute can be paid by attending from 10 am to 12:45 am. But due to the Corona epidemic, only 25 people are allowed at a time due to rules including maintaining social distance.
