Nepalese in Europe protest in front of the European Parliament against India’s blockade


BRUSSELS: With Non Residential Nepali Association (NRNA) ICC executive, Nepalese in Luxembourg have staged a demonstration in front of the European Parliament in European Union capital city Brussels, Belgium and submitted a memorandum to The European Parliament on Tuesday against India’s unofficial blockade on Nepal.
EU Protest 1large number of Nepalis in Europe and NRNA Chief Patron Jiba Lamichhane, Vice President, Kumar Pant, General Secretory Badri KC expressed their solidarity in the demonstration staged against India’s unofficial blockade on Nepal.

EU Protest 3Vice President of NRNA Kumar Pant said that the rally was organised to draw attention of the European Country to create environment conducive for resuming the supplies of goods from India to Nepal and also respect Nepal rights to transit trade as landlocked country. Pant added that there was no sign of lifting the blockade from Indian side despite the humanitarian crisis in Nepal. Hospitals have run out of medicines and there is no gas for cooking and petrol for transportation. Schools, colleges and factories are closing and tourists are not coming.

EU ProtestChief Patron of NRNA Jiba Lamichhane said they submitted a memorandum to European Parliament’s chairman stating that Nepal is on a verge of humanitarian crisis due to blockade imposed by India. Lamichhane adding India respect Nepal landlocked rights & resuming the supplies of goods from India to Nepal.
