
KATHMANDU: A Nepali woman was found murdered following rape in Reading, England on Monday.
Forty-year-old Krishna Maya Mabo, an native of Tharpu-6 in Panchthar district, had gone missing since the morning of June 3. Her body was found at a field in Robin Hood Copse between Castle Hill and Eversley Road at about 1pm local time on the same day.
“We are providing support to Krishnamaya’s family at this extremely distressing time and keeping them fully informed on the progress of our investigation,” the BBC quoted a senior police official as saying.
Mabo’s husband Thaluman Mabo said that initial reports had shown that Mabo was murdered after rape. Thaluman, a retired British Army soldier, now works in the Military Provost Guard Service (MPGS) of the British Army. Police has arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
