Nepali Congress provincial convention begins today

N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU:- Provincial conventions are being held in all the seven states today under the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress.

According to Congress Central Election Committee Coordinator Gopal Krishna Ghimire, the voter list will be published today. Nomination registration is scheduled for Friday.

Elections will be held on Saturday. The General Convention delegates elected from 165 constituencies and the Provincial Convention delegates elected from 330 constituencies can vote for the provincial leadership.

The provincial conventions of the Congress will be held in Biratnagar of Province 1, Janakpurdham of Province 2, Hetauda of Bagmati, Pokhara of Gandaki, Butwal of Lumbini, Surkhet of Karnali, and Dhangadhi of Far West.

According to Congress spokesperson Bishwaprakash Sharma, Prime Minister and President Sher Bahadur Deuba is scheduled to inaugurate the provincial convention at 2 pm through virtual media.

Earlier, Deuba was scheduled to visit Hetauda. Due to lack of time, Deuba is scheduled to inaugurate through a virtual medium.

Congress had earlier assigned the responsibility of convening every state convention. Accordingly, the leaders will inaugurate the convention program in their respective constituencies today.

The establishment of the Nepali Congress and other parties are announcing separate candidacies for the working committee of the state. They are preparing the panel.
