MELAMCHI: The Nepali Congress has provided relief materials to the 73 households of Bahrabise Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district which were worst hit by the recent landslide and flood.
They have distributed foodstuffs on Sunday. The families from Jambu (34) and Khagdal, Sirire, and Rumta (39) were given rice, pulse, beaten rice, and other foodstuffs, a local leader of NC Yudhir Poudel said. The 73 families lost their houses in the floods that occurred in the Bhotekoshi River and Yanki stream. Following the disaster, they have been facing problems for shelter and food. The people losing family members and those with missing family members were given monetary relief. A central member of the NC and former minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet and constituency chair Balkrishna Basnet distributed Rs 7,000 to each house losing family members at Jambu of Bahrabise-5. Similarly, 27 households were provided foodstuffs along with Rs 2,000 each.
