N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU:- A meeting of office bearers convened by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is being held in Budhanilkantha on Saturday. The meeting called for 2 pm will discuss the upcoming general convention.
According to the constitutional provision, the 14th general convention of the party should have been concluded by next August, but the Nepali Congress has stated that a meeting of office bearers has been convened to discuss the same issue as the schedule will be affected due to the corona epidemic.
According to the pre-determined schedule, the ward level convention has to start in June. However, it is difficult to hold the general convention as per the schedule as the active membership has not been decided yet.
So far, the details of about 800,000 active members have been entered in the data system, but it is yet to be published and a complaint has to be lodged.
