KATHMANDU : Nepali Congress(NC) president Sher Bahadur Deuba said autocratic system by no means would be acceptable.

Inaugurating an awakening campaign entitled ‘the Mountain, Hill, Tarai-Madhes’ launched by the NC’s Kathmandu district he said Nc would not accept autocracyin any form.He stressed the need for the NC to expose the government’s wrong doings to the people through an awakening campaign. He criticized the president Bidya Devi Bhandari for using the word MY GOVERNMENT while presenting policy and programmes for fiscal year 2076-77. In another context, he said the issue of election of central member representatives from the local level would be discussed within the party.

Likewise, NC leader Prakash Man Singh said the awakening campaign would further energise the NC from the centre to local level, and help spread NC’s role to the people. The first-phase of the nationwide campaign kicked from today will run for a month while the second-phase of campaign has been scheduled from September 10 to 24 and the third-phase campaign will run from December 23 to January 1 .
