Nepali Chef of United Kingdom selects new leadership


LONDON: The first general convention of Nepalese Chef Association selected the new executive committee led by Krishna Timilsena.

Dadhi Acharya, Krishna Sunedi, Ram Chandra Subedi and Khem Dhakal have been elected as vice-chairperson, secretary, joint secretary and Treasurer respectively. Other members of the executive committee are Dharmagat Chapagain, Thakur Dhungana, Mohan Lal Oli, Rajendra Tripathi, Raju Bohara, Saroj KC, Prem Neupane, Ram Singh Thapa and Dayaram Poudel. Other members of the committee will be elected later.

Chief Election Commissioner Ram Saran Simkhada administered oath of office to the newly elected officials. Newly elected Chairperson Timilsena informed that his tenure will concentrate on professional and institutional development. There are around seven hundred chefs associated in the organization.

Special Guest of the Program Birendra Sharma, who is also the local parliamentarian informed that he has been closely working with the Nepali community and will continue to do so in the future as well.

Similarly addressing the program Chief Guest Acting Ambassador of Nepal Tej Bahadur Chhetri informed that Nepali Chefs have been publicizing Nepal in the international arena through food.

Similarly, Ram Prasad Sharma, Shyam Maharjan, Kaluram Tamang, Jay Krishna Tamang, Govinda Tamang, Sanukaji Maharjan, Hari KC, Purna Madhukarmi, Narayan Maharjan, Bishnu Karki and Man Bahadur Budathoki, who came to UK during 1960s and 1970s and established in the profession of Chef were felicitated on the occasion.

Similarly the Association provided 710 pound to the fund of Help Nepal Network. Chairperson Timilsena will hand-over the money during the program to be held on August 18.
