Nepali American Immigrants protest against President Donald Trump’s bid to end TPS
Purushottam Dhakal, LOS ANGELES: Nepali American Immigrants and South Asian activists protest against President Donald Trump’s bid to end temporary protected status (TPS) for thousands of immigrants.
TPS holders, other immigrants, The Mass. TPS Committee, South Asian Network, Adhikar Jobs with Justice are expected to gather outside of the US Federal Court in Pasadena, Los Angeles this morning — the same time Trump’s argument to end TPS is set to be reviewed by a California judge.
Roughly 320,000 families, including about 10,000 in Nepali American, depend on TPS to remain in the community, according to protest organizers.
Along with the rally in South Pasadena, LA, dozens of TPS recipients from California protest outside the hearing in California.
