Nepalese youths start occupying against institutional corruption

By Phurpa Sherpa, Dikshya Chhetri, KATHMANDU:- Numbers of Youth took part in an ongoing peaceful protest in different parts of the nation on Friday.

This protest got highlighted when protesters were hit by water cannon and baton charge at Baluwatar, Kathmandu on June 9th, 2020. Even on Thursday, June 11th, 2020 police lobbed tear gas and used water cannon at a peaceful protest held near Bhatbhateni, Kathmandu.

Though the government warned public gatherings and protests, hundreds of youths defied the warning and took part in the peaceful protest held on different parts of the nation with a strong message.

Also, on the same day, Home Minister issued a notice to arrest people for defying Lockdown including one to six months jail and Rs.100 to Rs.600 fine under the infectious disease Act 2020.

Youths organized peaceful protests at Basantapur, Dhulikhel, Kirtipur, and Lalitpur among other places.

Similarly, the protests are erupting from major cities like Biratnagar, Chitwan, Pokhara, Hetauda, Birgunj, Dang, and Udyapur while more programs have been scheduled in different cities of the country in the coming days.
