    Nepal to import fertilizers from India

    KATHMANDU:- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been reached today between Nepal and the Government of India for long-term supply of urea and DAP fertilizer from India to Nepal through G2G process.

    The MoU was signed by Secretary at Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development Dr Govinda Prasad Sharma on behalf of Nepal and by Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi, Secretary, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, according to the Indian Embassy in Nepal.

    The MoU was signed between the two sides in a virtual ceremony held on Monday in the presence of Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Mahindra Raya Yadav and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra.

    The understanding between the two sides is expected to address the recurring problem of fertilizer shortage in Nepal. The MoU is another milestone in bilateral economic cooperation between India and Nepal and reflects India’s priorities for Nepal, adds the Embassy.
