Nepal starts vaccination campaign against coronavirus from today

The Government of Nepal has already stated that it will not be responsible if there is any future in vaccination. Therefore, the person who is vaccinated has to be responsible if anything happens in the future.

N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU:- The Government of Nepal has started a vaccination campaign against the coronavirus from today. Health workers, security personnel, cleaners, and others in the forefront of the campaign against corona will be vaccinated in the first phase.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will launch the vaccination campaign in 11 hospitals in Kathmandu at a time today amid a virtually held ceremony.

Shukraraj Tropical and Communicable Diseases Hospital Teku, Veer Hospital, Ayurveda Research, and Training Center Hospital Kirtipur, Patan Hospital, Philanthropic Obstetrics, and Gynecology Hospital Thapathali, Teaching Hospital Maharajgunj, Bhaktapur Hospital, Shaheed Dharmabhakt Organ Transplant Center Bhaktapur, Kathmandu Medical College Jorpati, Health workers of Armed Police Hospital Balambu and Shaheed Ganga Lal Hospital Bansbari will administer the vaccine.

The director of Shukraraj-based Teku Hospital, Dr. Sagar Rajbhandari has announced the first vaccination on behalf of Teku Hospital. He said he was the first to get the vaccine himself to convey the message that the vaccine against corona is safe.

One million doses of the Covishield vaccine granted by the Government of India is being administered in Nepal. The vaccine is 70 percent effective in India. The Government of Nepal had given permission for the emergency use of the Covshield vaccine on January 20.

According to the Department of Health Services, in the first phase, 430,000 people at the forefront of coronavirus prevention will be vaccinated. Vaccines have been distributed in all the states for the vaccination campaign.
