N24 Staff Writer, KATHMANDU: NEPSE index has set a continuous rising trend from the start of this week. Even in the fourth trading day of the week, NEPSE index increases by double digits. As the stock market is becoming more online based, even during lockdown investors can easily buy and sell shares with one click from home. Meanwhile, the online system seems to boost the confidence of investors.
According to Nepal Stock Exchange, the NEPSE index has increased by 21.10 points to close at 1,462.03 points. While the Sensitive Index risen by 4.77 points to 298.74 points. A total of 5.88 million shares of 186 companies were traded, with the total turnover of Rs 2.65 billion.
Of the total 12 subgroups traded, shares of two subgroups closed at red while remaining ten subgroups closed at green. Life Insurance decreased by 17.97 points and Trading by 1.13 points. Likewise, Finance increased by 1.27 points, Banking by 22.93 points, Development Banks by 25.04 points, Hydropower by 11.25 points, Hotels by 3.40 points, Manufacturing/Processing by 7.35 points, Microfinance by 41.14 points, Mutual Funds by 0.16 points, Non life Insurance by 51.62 points and Others by 17.29 points.
Today, Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) is in the top position in terms of turnover. The company had a turnover of Rs 349.25 million. Similarly, Neco Insurance Limited (NIL) Rs 137.87 million, Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) Rs 125.21 million, NIC Asia Bank Limited (NICA) Rs 104.09 million and Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL) Rs 82.95 million.
Similarly, today’s top three gainers were: Investors of NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) gained 9.80 percent, Nepal Finance Limited (NFS) gained 7.47 percent and Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) gained 5.95 percent.
Likewise, today’s top three losers were: Samriddhi Finance Company Limited (SFCL) lost 9.79 percent, Guheswori Merchant Banking & Finance Limited (GMFIL) lost 3.94 percent and Ankhukhola Hydropower Company Limited (AKJCL) lost 3.64 percent.
