N24 Staff Writer, KATHMANDU: On the third trading day of the week, NEPSE index has again set a rising trend. As the stock market is becoming more online based, even during lockdown investors can easily buy and sell shares with just a click from home. Meanwhile, the online system seems to boost the confidence of investors.
According to Nepal Stock Exchange, the NEPSE index has increased by 9.34 points to close at 1,440.94 points. While the Sensitive Index risen by 0.83 points to 293.97 points. A total of 3.94 million shares of 189 companies were traded, with the total turnover of Rs 1.85 billion.
Of the total 12 subgroups traded, shares of three subgroups closed at red while remaining nine subgroups closed at green. Manufacturing/Processing decreased by 7.25 points, Mutual Funds by 0.01 points and Trading by 3.06 points. Likewise, Finance increased by 1.20 points, Banking by 1.92 points, Development Banks by 2.77 points, Hydropower by 9.05 points, Hotels by 10.20 points, Life Insurance by 151.73 points, Microfinance by 20.08 points, Non life Insurance by 32.26 points and Others by 18.57 points.
Today, Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) is in the top position in terms of turnover. The company had a turnover of Rs 287.40 million. Similarly, Neco Insurance Limited (NIL) Rs 142.66 million, Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL) Rs 84.36 million, Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) Rs 80.99 million and Asian Life Insurance Company Limited (ALICL) Rs 59.12 million.
Similarly, today’s top three gainers were: Investors of Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) gained 7.69 percent, Asha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ALBSL) gained 6.19 percent and Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL) gained 5.91 percent.
Likewise, today’s top three losers were: Samriddhi Finance Company Limited (SFCL) lost 6.54 percent, Union Hydropower Company Limited (UNHPL) lost 4.92 percent and National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) lost 3.70 percent.
