N24 Staff Writer, KATHMANDU: According to Nepal Stock Exchange, the NEPSE index has fallen by 16.53 points to close at 1,408.79 points. Similarly, the Sensitive Index decreased by 3.45 points to 293.84 points. A total of 3.34 million shares of 191 companies were traded, with the total turnover of Rs 1.05 billion.
Of the total 12 subgroups traded, shares of only one subgroup rose while remaining eleven subgroups declined. Trading increased by 0.53 points. While, Hydropower declined by 10.32 points, Hotels by 1.84, Banking by 16.53 points, Mutual Funds by 0.02 points, Development banks by 15.89 points, Finance by 4.91 points, Non-life insurance by 76.75 points, Manufacturing/production by 32.64 points, Others by 5.57 points, Microfinance by 27.97 points and Life insurance by 99.52 points.
Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) is in the top position in terms of turnover. The company had a turnover of Rs 73.96 million. Similarly, Nepal Reinsurance Company (NRIC) had Rs 71.94 million and NIC Asia Bank Limited (NICA) had Rs 69.33 million.
Similarly, today’s top three gainers were: Dibyashwari Hydropower Company Limited (DHPL) gained 10.00 percent, Sadhana Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SDLBSL) gained 9.86 percent and Joshi Hydropower Development Company Limited (JOSHI) gained 8.93 percent.
Likewise, today’s top three losers were: Nepal Finance Limited (NFS) lost 5.68 percent, Ajod Life Insurance (AIL) lost 4.79 percent and Global IME Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (GILB) lost 4.72 percent.
