KATHMANDU:- The country witnessed a total of 594 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwor Gautam said in a daily press briefing on Friday. With this, the number of coronavirus infected reached 25,551 in the country.
Likewise, 240 infected got victory over the virus in the past 24 hours and returned home. So far, 17,077 people got discharged from the hospitals after winning the battle against the virus, according to Gautam.
According to Ministry, the country’s labs tested 11,575 individuals’ PCR in the past 24 hours—the highest number of tests in a single day so far.
Dr Gautam said that Parsa recorded 71 cases while 53 in Morang, 24 in Sunsari, 24 in Mahottari, 24 in Bara and 22 each in Tanahun and Banke districts.
Likewise, 21 in Surkhet, 18 in Makawanpur, 14 each in Saptari, Sarlahi, Chitwan and Rupandehi while 11 in Sindhuli and nine each in Jhapa and Kailali and three in Dailekh districts were confirmed in the past 24 hours.
Similarly, the new cases are six each from Siraha and Achham, five each from Rautahat, Bardiya and Kapilbastu districts.
The Ministry said that two cases are each from Sindhupalchowk, Nawalpur and Kanchanpur, and one each from Udayapur, Nuwakot, Dolakha, Dhading, Kaski, Lamjung, Parbat, Syangja, Salyan, Bajura, Humla and Bajhang districts.
Dr Gautam said that the number of deaths from coronavirus reached 99 including 77 males. With 42 fatalities, the highest number of death is from State No. 2 and Karnali has the lowest number of death (4).
Spokesperson Dr Gautam stated that on Friday one each died in Morang and Siraha districts and two in Bara district.
