
KATHMANDU- Nepal got off to a bright start in the Asian Cricket Council Under-16 Premier League by beating Thailand by 10 wickets at Selangor Turf Club in Malaysia on Thursday.
Nepal bowled out Thailand for just 48 runs in 31st over before chasing down the target in 6.1 overs in the 40 overs each game.
Jitendra Singh Thakuri was the most successful bowler taking five wicket in six overs conceding only three runs. Nepali Captain Sushant Thapa made 25 while Rabi Chand scored 16 in the easy victory.
Nepal will play against Singapore on Friday. The team will than meet Oman two days later and wrap up their league with a tie against hosts Malaysia on August 20.
Apart from Nepal, the six-nation event includes Singapore, Thailand, Oman, Bahrain and Malaysia.
