Nepal Police arrested Accomplice of Nakkhu bomb blast
KATHMANDU: Police made public one of the accomplices of the Nakkhu bomb blast, Dorchi Sherpa, on Friday.
A powerful bomb had gone off at the entrance of the office of telecommunications service provider Ncell at Nakkhu, Lalitpur, on February 22 this year, killing one person and leaving three others injured.
Police had arrested Dorchi Sherpa aka Dorche of Bhojpur district from Gongabu in Kathmandu on Thursday. Sherpa is learned to be the member of the Netra Vikram Chand ‘Biplab’-led CPN Maoist youth wing, according to the Metropolitan Police Division, Kathmandu. Division’s Senior Superintendent of Police Shahakul Thapa shared that Sherpa was the master mind of the incident.
A person named Singha Prasad Gurung was killed in the incident while Kumar Khatri, Pratikshya Khadka and Urusha Manandhar were injured in the incident.
Sherpa had taken the security officials guarding the Ncell’s office under his control with pistol. He had escaped an operation launched by the police for manhunt at Kafaldanda in Kavrepalanchowk district.
There were altogether eight accomplices in the bomb blast of whom seven were already nabbed.
