Nepal Communit Party Chairmen Oli, Dahal sit for talks to resolve intraparty dispute
KATHMANDU: Chairmen of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ held talks on Sunday aimed at resolving the party’s internal dispute.
Chairmen Oli and Prachanda consulted over the issues at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar at the presence of party senior leader Jhalanath Khanal and deputy leader of the parliamentary party Subas Nembang.
The dispute in the ruling NCP has deepened lately as the standing committee meetings were postponed repeatedly and the regular agendas of the meetings are not discussed.
In addition to the regular agendas of the standing committee, the leaders are at loggerheads on power-sharing and coordination between the government and party. According to Nembang, the two chairmen held very open discussions in all the issues that have emerged on the surface. “The situation is positive. But, nothing can be shared until the issues were finalized,” Nembang added.
The leaders are also scheduled to sit for talks on Monday as well.
